I made this cake in December, but I only found this picture now.

I'm a terrible photographer, but hopefully you can get the idea.

The decorations on the cake are made of fondant, except for the deep purple ribbon at the base-that's actually a real ribbon P:

I love how smooth and pretty it looks. Did you make the fondant yourself? How did you make the bow?

Nope. Fondant is way to complicated (in my opinion) to make homemade. No one really eats it anyways, so I don't really see the point xD

I made the bow by folding thin strips of fondant around rolls of paper towel and letting them dry overnight, so that when I take out the rolls, it keeps its shape.

Yeah. It's very sweet, and it has a strange flavour, and when you chew it you feel like you just bit into playdough by accident.

But I know people who love it...

I tried to make a fondant covered cake, and for my first one, it wasn't too shabby. o.o
This looks slightly nicer, however. xD

Hopefully I can do some more cakes in the future that look like this. : D
